Superstar (Old)
2012 relaunch of the 2008 World-winning Superstar
The yo-yo John Ando used to win the 2008 World Yo-Yo Contest, Superstar is a wide, rim-weighted YoYoFactory H-shape with hubstacks, free-spinning caps on the axle for finger spins and grinds. This is the 2012 relaunch, released in March 2012 alongside new runs of Genesis and Supernova.
Superstar grew out of YoYoFactory's earlier G5. The 2012 run switched the body from 7075 to 6061 aluminum, with only minor changes to weight, size and shape. It weighs 67.6 grams with hubstacks and measures 56 mm in diameter and 41.4 mm in width.
In 2013, YoYoFactory redesigned it: wider, with the inner wall moved closer to the bearing and no hubstacks. The original hubstack design later returned as Superstar OG.
