The signature yo-yo for 2006 5A World Champion Tyler Severance, Supernova is a 7075 aluminum monometal by YoYoFactory, first released in January 2011.
It followed Tyler's Severe as one of YoYoFactory's first premium signature models, and the line soon added the Supernova Lite, the Monster and the Nova. This is the original 2011 run, before YoYoFactory's 2013 revision moved more weight to the rim and brought the rim shape closer to the 2010 Severe. It weighs 67 grams and measures 56.3 mm in diameter and 44.36 mm in width.
Tyler won US National 5A titles in 2012 and 2014 before leaving YoYoFactory in 2015 to start his own brand, Recess. Michael Malik's Blade (2019) draws on Supernova's design.
