A finger-spin remake of the 2010 original, Northstar is a hybrid YoYoFactory yo-yo with aluminum weight rings and concave caps, released in May 2017.
The original Northstar, itself a heavier take on Protostar, was the signature yo-yo Jensen Kimmitt used to win 1A at the World YoYo Contest 2010. The 2017 version keeps its shape but swaps the flat caps for concave ones with a center dimple that holds the yo-yo during finger spins, and weighs 2 to 3 grams less.
It ships unresponsive, with a Center Trac bearing and 19mm response pads. In 2023, YoYoFactory reissued the original design.
